Pre & Post Surgery Skincare

With skincare, here at Skin Revolution, we recognise that there are some issues that may need surgical help to fully resolve. We have strong relationships with some of our best local surgeons and can help you in making your choices.

Plastic surgery results depend not only on the skill of your surgeon but also on the health of your skin before surgery and your post-surgical skin care. A healthy, flexible, strong skin with great nutritional support will provide your surgeon with the best starting material and will recover and heal faster and more successfully.

After consulting with you, we will formulate pre and post-surgery skincare plans.

Your pre-surgery plan will focus on strengthening your skin using supportive nutritional supplements and specific skincare high in vitamins. Depending on your skin’s starting point, we might suggest micro-needling (which thickens the dermis significantly) and peeling. Post-surgery, we use our Dermalux, sometimes as soon as the day after surgery (with your surgeon’s permission), to reduce bruising, swelling and inflammation. We generally suggest the Dermalux is used twice a week initially. This will significantly reduce your downtime after surgery and return you to work and your normal social life much sooner.

We offer a discreet service in beautiful surroundings, with free parking right outside our front door. Ongoing, we will monitor any scarring and have treatments we can use to reduce redness and improve the texture of your scars. We will again modify your home and nutritional support to increase your healing rates. If you have older, existing scars, it’s not too late, we can also help with scar revision and stretch marks too!

It’s important to improve the skin’s density ahead of surgery and we will design a home care and nutritional support programme along with treatments to ensure your skin is in the best possible condition pre-surgery. A Skin Pen treatment is a great way to do this. It triggers your body’s own collagen and elastin-producing cells to increase its dermal thickness whilst creating channels to increase penetration of the mesotherapy serums we add containing bespoke active ingredients. There’s thought to be a 400% increase in absorption of these actives with this method, as well as a significant strengthening of the dermis.

We also use Dermalux and it’s two clinically proven wavelengths to stimulate the mitochondria as a successful skincare treatment, these are the power houses of the skin cells. This has been clinically proven to produce a cascade of cellular processes that also stimulates collagen and elastin production. This also improves blood flow and tissue oxygenation maximising the skins health pre surgery.

Again we will design a supportive healing home care and nutritional support programme for you post surgery. As soon as is possible after surgery, we would recommend a course of Dermalux as it’s red and near infrared light wavelengths significantly reduce inflammation, accelerate wound healing, reduce pigmentation and improve skin tone and texture instantly and over time.

“Before booking any course of treatment, we recommend you book a consultation.”

Why have a consultation with us?

Because without knowing what is going on with your skin how can you treat it correctly?

During your consultation we will ask you some questions and chat about your health, lifestyle, nutrition, and stress levels as well as how you feel about your skin.  These external factors are important as they have a huge impact on the way your skin behaves.  We can treat skin symptoms but in order to give you properly happy skin we must identify the causes of any problems.

Knowledge is power and we also think it is very important for you to understand how your skin functions. So, as well as offering you solutions in the form of a plan containing treatment and targeted homecare recommendations we will also share with you some skin education.

We offer two types of consultation that are conducted face to face in clinic as well as an online service via zoom or facetime for those of you who cannot come in to see us in person.

We recommend clients new to the clinic ideally start with a full Skin Consultation and Bespoke Treatment Plan Creation, this one includes a treatment too, a great way to get a feel of what we can do for you.
