Injectable Skin Boosters – What is Profhilo?
Firstly, this is not a filler; this treatment will not change the contours or shape of your face. At Skin Revolution, we prefer to work with your natural biology to improve your skin.
The first of its kind, Profhilo is a revolutionary ‘beneath the skin’ injectable hyaluronic acid moisturising treatment. This delivers a unique hyaluronic acid injectable gel, which has a prolonged stimulating activity on the dermal cells.
When injected into skin, Profhilo stimulates the skin cell receptors to counteract skin laxity and improve and restore firmness of the skin.
We choose to use profhilo as it contains the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, it not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue naturally. The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck and can also be used for the decollete and backs of hands.
The treatment is suitable for all people as well as offering skin benefits for clients of all ages.
How Does Profhilo Work?
Think of it like a potent skin serum delivered into your skin rather than sitting on top of the surface. The ultra-pure hyaluronic acid used within Profhilo is specially formulated to combine high and low molecular weights, which, unlike traditional dermal fillers, allows it to penetrate more efficiently into the skin’s layers.
As a stabilised product, the activity on dermal cells will last longer than that of a non-stabilised gel. During this time the stimulation of four different types of collagens and elastin takes place by the slow release of hyaluronic acid.
This initiates a regenerative cascade, producing long-lasting and visibly rejuvenating effects. Beyond its hydrating and plumping properties, Profhilo also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant qualities, which can help diminish redness, swelling, and other indicators of skin damage.
This stimulation of your skin cells results in significant tissue improvement after a few uses, resulting in a tightening/lifting effect on the tissue treated.
Will it hurt?
These injectable skin boosters are tiny injections into the skin. You will have 5 injection points on each side of your face, but we will apply numbing cream first so discomfort is minimal. You will have small bumps on the skin at each injection site, which disperse over the next 24-48 hours.
How many treatments do I need?
Initially, you need 2 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart. Results are at their maximum 2 weeks after the last injections. We recommend maintaining your results by having one treatment every 3-4 months.

During your consultation we will ask you some questions and chat about your health, lifestyle, nutrition, and stress levels as well as how you feel about your skin. These external factors are important as they have a huge impact on the way your skin behaves. We can treat skin symptoms but in order to give you properly happy skin we must identify the causes of any problems.
Knowledge is power and we also think it is very important for you to understand how your skin functions. So, as well as offering you solutions in the form of a plan containing treatment and targeted homecare recommendations we will also share with you some skin education.
We offer two types of consultation that are conducted face to face in clinic as well as an online service via zoom or facetime for those of you who cannot come in to see us in person.
